Latex Paint
Paint is considered latex, if the cleanup involves soap and water. Latex or water-based paint is easy to dispose of at home. Here are some ideas.
· If the can is completely empty and dry, leave the lid off and throw in the garbage.
· Alternate layers of crumpled newspaper and latex paint in a cardboard box. When the material is dry, throw it in the garbage.
· In a well-ventilated area away from children and pets, leave the lids off of latex paint cans and let dry. Mixing clay-based kitty litter helps speed up the process. Once the paint is completely dry, leave the lid off and throw the can in the garbage.
