Clinton County Enviro Kids is a program for children in third thru fifth grade. This program is co-sponsored by Bickelhaupt Arboretum, Clinton County Area Solid Waste Agency, Clinton County Conservation Board, Clinton Regional Development Corporation, Iowa State Extension Clinton County Office, Izaak Walton League, and Lyondell Chemical Company. This event is held in the summer on a handful of Saturdays. Each day held at a different location in Clinton County. Some of the features have been a day at the landfill, the Bickelhaupt Arboretum, and Rock Creek Marina on the CCCB's Blue Heron Boat. The kids have a great time and go away knowing more of how they effect the environment.

Compost Workshops

Each year several backyard composting workshops are held in Clinton County. Along with backyard composting, vermicomposted is offered with the Clinton County Conservation Board. Composting helps with yardwaste disposal by creating a good product out of waste, that can not be landfilled.
